Hello Everybody! Well we have just received our first report cards for being in North Carolina and it is a wonderful day in the Hines house. Sam and Beth both received all A’s and 1 B each. Both are on the honor roll and both had very nice things said about them from their teachers. I am quite the proud mother. AND THEN…. Beth won the class spelling bee and participated in her school’s spelling bee this morning. Rob and I were there to see and ta dah….She is the first runner......

Well, it is mid January and the house is coming along at a very quick rate. The girls and I went by and visited today. We have a driveway, we have a walkway, a tree in the front yard, shrubbery. Our dishwasher is in the house – not installed yet, but in the house. All the fixtures are in, lights, outlet covers, lightswitches – yep we have em. As far as I can tell, we are waiting on the stove, the countertops, the downstairs bath is missing a toilet – very important…the......

Wow, what a DAY! We had a great time at Kate’s Skate Park for Beth’s party. We invited 48 people and had about 15 show up. Beth and all her friends had a blast and there were almost no tears – just a couple from a fall that quickly dried up. Even Rob skated. He was able to help some neighborhood children who didn’t know how to skate and was just a great dad today. We also got some Christmas money from Grandma Betty today that the girls had to go spend......

Well, tomorrow is Rob’s 36th birthday. He wants Peace and Quiet, Samantha has declared a day of silence for her Dad’s birthday. We will see how that lasts. He got a new gaming keyboard and accessories that are made just special for one of his games. He is thrilled. Sadly, I bought them today, didn’t wrap them and sat them across from him all day as he played his game. He said the temptation was TERRIBLE. I said, that made for a great gift. I am a horrible wife, glad I have......

Just so you don’t think we overlooked her, Beth had a friend sleep over last night for her first part of her birthday and then NEXT Saturday, she is having a rollerskating party. We are actually inviting her entire Sunday School class, her entire regular school class and some local hooligans from the neighborhood and some extended family in the area. All in all, we are inviting over 48 friends. We will see who shows up. I think she will have a great time. So her special present for her 11th is......

Okay, so it has been a week of more changes in the Hines Apartment. Since we have not heard anything about the children and the apartment was feeling empty we bought a puppy. Bear is a Shepherd/Lab mix, he is 2 months old, all black except a patch of white on his chest and the best dog ever. Doesn’t bark – much, sleeps well, is ALMOST potty trained, loves us to death and is just really sweet. I also got a job. Last week I went on an interview, 8 people were......

Well, the girls had their first days of school at the new schools. It is kind of funny – Beth’s last teacher was Ms. Burnham, and her new one is Mrs. Burns. Samantha also has a Mrs. Burns – but not the same lady. It went very well. Both girls enjoyed their classes and teachers. I was pleased with the schools as well. I am sure the Batavia School District we were in was better, but this seems smaller and kinder in many ways. We shall see. Both came home with friends......

Well, the girls are signed up for school and all set to go. They start tomorrow. We just did our first OFFICIAL grocery shopping for the new apartment, the saleslady at the local Bi-Lo was bug-eyed. I also forgot that our big freezer is in storage so I had to become VERY creative for stuffing all our groceries into the MUCH smaller freezer than I am used to. How do “normal” people do it – just joking. Rob will be happier though, not as much eating out. Okay, well I think I......

Yes, that is correct, the boxes are unpacked. We are in the process of getting some new furniture, so the office is still messy and the living room is on the VERY empty side. But, the boxes are unpacked and we are offically moved in and settled. Boy does that feel good. The rest of the family is fine, but I am still a bit sore in the calves, all the up and down the stairs on moving day was more than I have done in a while. Feeling better every day......

Hello Everybody, We are officially in our new apartment. It is rather large, sadly, on the second floor. We have three bedrooms, the girls are sharing the master br with the cats, we have the second largest and the computers get their own room as the third bedroom. It has a nice size living room and a dining room, kitchen, and back deck. Most of the boxes are gone from the main living areas. When we were moving in, we decided to only move the light stuff and rent a storage unit......
